Though this post, I would like to say : « THANK U SO MUCH » to 2 incredible girlfriends : Fanny & Corinne. The first one is an ex-colleague she is a social worker who worked at Beaujon Hospital with me. Now, she has been living at Montreal with his boyfriend, Louis since last January. The second one (it will make me smile but I have never meet her), she lives in Singapore and she is a faithful reader of my fashion website Flizboutik (a good reason to become one of my friend!). I only know her by the wonderful magic of the net!

As you can notice, both live abroad and like this life : we share the love to travel and discover another country. They know that I am spending hard time with the birth of my wonderful son : feeding, bottle feeding and its necessary organisation, stress, lack of sleeping. Time flies and I have much to learn as young mother. However, I can tell you it changes my life and I am filled, proud of my son and veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy happy.

Thus, Fanny and Corinne sent me from Canada and Singapore magazines : Biba and Cosmopolitan in French. They are very caring and I appreciate a lot. How could I not?

I hope to find a little moment (as soon as possible) to read your magazines…

THANK U AGAIN MY DEAR FRIENDS 😉

Yummy! It is the only word I can tell when I taste a chocolate from agnes b’ s chocolate shop.

Actually, Jerome made me a very good surprise today. He brought me a nice little box full of chocolate. But, not ordinary one (even if it would be perfect for me, you know me!), I recognized immediately the famous signature on the box. Before coming in Hong Kong I did not even know that agnes b had a chocolate shop in her own name… Here, the Hong Kong people are addicted to this brand. I discovered also that she is not only in fashion and cosmetic products, she is a great business woman. Indeed, she opened her first-ever flagship store, « La Loggia »  last year in the big shopping mall IFC located in Hong Kong Island.

Directly on the bay, an area of 4500m2 imagined by designer André Fu is more than just shop! All the classic brand are proposed (lines Women, Men, Travel, Jewelry, Sport b.), but also some unusual places in Hong Kong only!

Thus, the Loggia is also a restaurant named  « le Pain Grillé », where you can sample traditional French cuisine, a boutique florist Agnes b.,  the  » agnes b délices » or « la Maison sur l’eau « which offers both products, exhibitions and decorative objects.

I love agnes b chocolate

Maybe I will dissapoint you but I have not visited yet this place whereas Jerome did.  Shame on me…

To return to my chocolates during my pregnancy everything is allowed, but after life will be tough with all the bad eating habits taken …

Nathan's clothes

Nathan's clothes

I would like to thank my sister in law and my brother in law, Alice & Matthias for sending us a wonderful parcel from Nantes. They have got 3 children, 3 boys exactly : Oskar (8 years old); Benoît ( 5 years old) and Valentin ( 10 months). Alice had the good idea to offer us beautiful clothes for our Nathan. Nathan will really be a lucky boy : he was spoiled by her auntie.

We received : 4 newborn-size bodysuits, 4 all-in-one sleepsuits, 2 cardigans. What a pleasure to dress Nathan? I am in hurry and I think I will have fun like crazy…

As can be seen, he will be a very very very unhappy baby… 🙂

Horse race

Horse race

For the first time, Jerome and I joined last night some friends in Happy Valley, a district in Hong Kong Island. Oliver, an friend from London, proposed to come to the horse race. We attented our first race in the giant race track located in Happy Valley.

In my opinion, what is ammazing when you come in the racetrack, is its location  in the middle of the illuminated skycrappers. OUAAAAAAAAAAH! We went there yesterday because each Wednesday, it is the place to be for both newcomers like us and insiders. Everybody can come to see! You have to pay only 10 HKD (1€) for the entrance. Inside, thera are many stands : you do not die of thirsty and beer flows like water! For me as usual, of course, no alcohol grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Except this, it was an incredible night, we discovered a nice place and it was a good experience. Guess what? I played twice and won twice!!!  A lucky hand??? Watch the video below.

During the Chinese New Year, there are a lot of celebrations in Hong Kong, Jerome and I went to one of them last night. I can you tell it was a long trip to go there. Firstly, we took a bus from our place for 45 minutes but we got off a little bit earlier : I forgot to tell you, here you can not spot you. Why? Because quite simply, nothing tells you where you are… A little bit annoying, isn’t it? Then, we looked for a taxi driver who could drive us until our destination but no one of them seemed to understand… Finally, we found one who brought us to the right direction.

We arrived at 6.45 pm in the Waterfront Park Of Tai Po. Tai Po is a area located in the middle of  New Territories. To be honest, when you arrive at Tai Po, it is as if you were the Chinese border. What do I mean? There is no tourist or expatriates there.

We visited at last a beautiful Waterfront Park which was specially decorated for the Lantern Festival. We discovered colourful lanterns by night.

After we assisted a ceremony : the Dance of Lion. But we prefered to leave because of the crowd and I am not an addict of chinese songs…

BANGKOK SURPRISE janvier 4, 2009

First of all, I wish a happy new year full of hapiness, peace and a good health. This year, Jerome and I decided to join some friends in Bangkok for the New Year’s Eve. We stayed for 4 days. Since I am in Asia, I love the idea to celebrate each year in another country. Last year, it was in Singapore, a relax dinner with a couple of friends, Aurélie and Arnaud.

Nghia, a friend was the « event planner », he found the place after visiting several one. It was not very easy task for him because we gave him some recomandations : a place affordable and not far from the hotel. Oh, I forgot, the hotel, he chose it : IN CRE DI BLE! A nicely and stylish bedroom, everything was perfect : the design of the bedroom, the unforgettable matress of our king size bed (I want the same in my real life!!!!), from you bed you can see all it happens in your bathroom thanks a large window (I love it!) and the kind of the staff…

Thus, we had dinner for the last day of 2008 in the restaurant lounge of this wonderful hotel. We were the only one. The thai menu was cheap and delicious, just one thing : a little bit too spicy for me… Then, we walked to the bar « Long Table », a gorgeous bar located on the 25th floor of a building with a wonderful view on the city. What I love in Bangkok, all the nice place are often hidden and you have to find them : it is the reward! At midnight, we had the chance to see a Bangkok illuminated by the fireworks. But, do not believe it lasted 5 minutes, we were captived by the numerous of fireworks : when one finished another one took place. So beautiful and impressive!

We had a lot of rest : each morning after the breakfast, Jerome and I went to swim, guess where?  at the rooftop of the hotel on the 16th floor. Then after lunch and a walk, a little nap. I know the reason why we became lazy : the guilty is the mattress…

At the end of our trip, Jerome and I visited the Jimmy Thompson House, the teck house belonged to the american architect and his collection from his different trips in Asia. When the visit finished, a big surprise waited for me : I recognised a famous person. No, it is not Jude Law, unfortunately… Try again : a « people »? Not really… But a very famous woman in France. I had a little conversation with « Marie José Pérec »! You do not know her? It is impossible it was the French woman who won the most gold medals in history. A very respectable and respected woman , I do tell you! I was so excited to meet her because when I was a teenager, I followed her perfomances, she was a model for me. I can say she was very cool and simple. Needed a picture! I would not imagine before to meet Marie Jo Perec in Bangkok, so funny!

Time flies… I turned 31 years old yesterday. I remember when i turned last year 30 years, it was the big step : I was afraid. When I was younger, i said to myself : « when I turn 30 years old, I will a big job with a lot of responsabilities, an husband and 2 children( of course!) ». Not very original! to me, it meaned that I would get old.

But, this year, it does not matter because 2009 will be « great », no more than that « wonderful ». Especially with the venue of our son : Nathan! The future seems to me so bright and beautiful. The next will be better.

Even if i told jerome : « please, this year, i want nothing, all for the baby!  » Jerome surprised me once again, he invited me to the prestigious « cafe Causette  » (an inadapted name for the place…) in the famous « Mandarin Oriental Hotel ». You know I can not say no to sweet things. We took a break there for the tea time. I was very surprised because the price are reasonable and there are a lot of good choice of patisseries. I chose an opera and an earl grey organic tea : simple but so delicious! The presentation was sophisticated as you can see on the photo.

I recomend you if you come to Hong Kong!

WELCOME TO TUNG CHUNG AREA! novembre 16, 2008

I love the actual weather in Hong Kong : it is so nice, not too hot as in Singapore or not too cold as in Paris (even if I like the December’weather in Paris…).

Jerome and I have decided today to visit the « Big Buddha » attraction in Lautau Island. Lantau is the largest island, it is twice bigger than Hong Kong Island. We left from home at 9 am and we took the MTR at » Central Station » (10 minutes by walk) until the terminus « Tung Chung » station. It took us 30 minutes. Then, we waited about 45 minutes long from « Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal » , you can guess it is crowded. After we took a ride to Ngong Ping Village around 25 minutes. The round ticket trip costs 155 HKD in week end. It was magnificent : the brethtaking view of « Tung Chung Bay », the green landscape and the blue sky. So peaceful!

When we arrived in « Ngong Ping village », there was nothing special, it is like « Disneyland », a village just created for tourists : beverage and food, souvenirs shops… The reason is the only attraction is the « Tian Tan Buddha Statue » located 15 minutes further. We walked 100 meters and we climbed to the summit after having taken a stair of 289 steps (a little bit tiring with my big belly…). At the top, we could admire a wonderful panorama of Lautau North Country Park. The Statue of Buddha was very new : it was built in 1993. It reaches a height of 24 meters and weighs 202 tons. Impressive, isn’ t it?

We have lunch in the vegeterian restaurant of the « Po Lin Monastery » for 100 HKD (10 €) per person : simple and very delicious except the kind of gelatinous bean soup. We ate vegetable rolls, mushrooms and green vegetables and drank tea.

At our arrival, we visited one of Jerome’s friend, Andrew. A Singaporean guy who lives between HK and his native country. He lives at « Tung Chung » area and introduce us the advantages to live there. And frankly, He convinced us to come even it is far away from downtown. The quality of life is better : less polluted, rental market cheaper for bigger appartments, incredible facilities (indoor and out door swimming pool, gym room, a great shopping mall with outlet shop and restaurants) What more can you ask?

Maybe the place for a new home…

HK by night novembre 8, 2008

What it impressed me in HK it is HK by night. This big urban city is livingfull as well as day and night. When I speak about HK is all the area : From HK Island to the New Territories. There is always people everywhere : you can not be bored!
What I prefer, it is the moment when HK is lightening as soon as the night is coming down. It is magical to see the skycrappers dressed of shiny highlights.

Jerome and I were glad to discover the view from the « SEVVA » a very hype bar located at the 25th floor of « Prince’s buiding » in Central Business District. Nghia brought us there last Saturday. You can see the video above.
